Chongqing, People’s Republic of China — 25 November 2025: The PIPTA and Duan & Duan (Chongqing) Law Firm officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the shared goal of promoting the export of Cambodian products to China and supporting the entry of Chinese investment and products into Cambodia through enhanced intellectual property recognition and protection.

The cooperation framework focuses on facilitating IP-related trade between China and Cambodia, supporting international IP protection efforts, and strengthening capacity-building in the intellectual property sector (such as organizing training programs, workshops, and meetings to exchange laws, policies, and market information related to IP in both countries). Both parties also plan to collaborate on joint research and publications on IP-related topics.

The signing ceremony took place at the Duan & Duan (Chongqing) Law Firm, attended by Mrs. Keo Langcheng, President of PIPTA, and Mr. Hak Sokmeng, Secretary-General and representing the law firm were Mr. Leng Kai Wei, Office Director; Mr. Yang Yu, Head of the Intellectual Property Practice; and Ms. Yu Miaohan, International Affairs representative.

Prior to the signing, the President of PIPTA introduced the Association’s mission and achievements, emphasizing PIPTA’s commitment to promoting IP commercialization in Cambodia as well as disseminating relevant laws, national policies, and regulatory instruments. Mr. Leng Kai Wei noted that “this partnership represents an important milestone for Duan & Duan (Chongqing) in advancing its internationalization strategy through cooperation with overseas and international IP organizations.”

Both parties also agreed to collaborate on research related to technology transfer and exchange, as well as providing and receiving legal support services. Furthermore, they reached a consensus on the strategic direction of future cooperation.
